Grading Criteria:
You will be responsible for creating your own discussion thread (think of this as your response or statement regarding the discussion board topic/question) and for responding to at least two other students’ posts.
Responses to the discussion prompt(s) should be written in complete sentences and should contain references to relevant course material from the text and/or other sources within the Module. A typical response to each question in the discussion prompt(s) should be a minimum of two paragraphs with each paragraph containing at least five sentences. It is helpful to create your response within Microsoft Word to take advantage of spell check and then copy and paste it into the assignment to submit. Points will be deducted for spelling and/or grammar errors, use of abbreviated or “texting” language and failure to adequately respond to the question/topic.
Responses to the posts of other classmates should be several sentences in length and address the information contained in the other student’s original post, as well as the concepts within the text and course material. When you respond to classmates, please be respectful of other view points and make sure that your response is thoughtful, insightful, and extends the content of the initial response. Responses such as, “good job”, “I agree”, “I never thought of that,” etc. will not be counted as a productive response and will not receive any credit.
