MC Considering Audience Purpose and Tone Discussion
Now that you have read through Neil Gaiman’s “Why Our Future Depends on Libraries” at least once and completed an annotation worksheet for it, I want to dive into his argument further to help us build a solid academic understanding of the text. Please return to your notes, annotation worksheet, and/or the reading itself when working on the following two worksheets.
Step 1:
Focus on Gaiman’s argument and your reactions to it as you read when considering his claims and the evidence he uses in support. (This corresponds to Part II: Summary of the Annotation Worksheet.) Please fill out the following graphic organizer to organize your thoughts. I have provided you with both a .docx and pdf versions. (The .docx you can type right into.)
Step 2:
After you have completed the first graphic organizer in Step 1, please review the following worksheet on Audience, Tone, and Purpose, and complete the organizer within.
