Your assignment is to prepare and submit a paper on internet content and views by different cultures or religions. Internet Content and Views by Different Cultures or Religions
This essay is about internet content and the views by different cultures and religion. In the modern world, the internet plays a major role. This is because of its widespread use as a form of communication. The development of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter has led to the increased use of the internet as a form of communication. The internet has been a major means of spreading the American culture (Casanova, 1994).
Culture and Religion play a valuable role in the manner in which individuals live their lives. Culture is mainly developed through socialization. Through communication, certain social units develop unique habits, rituals, and customs. Religion, on the other hand, deals more with the spirituality and, sometimes morality of human beings. The difference in culture and religion throughout the world means that internet content may vary from one region to the other (Featherstone, 1990).
In oppressive governments such as that of Iran, internet content is controlled by the state. Due to the tight bond of this country with Islamic culture and Islam, internet content related with Western culture has been completely censored. This is because their religion does not allow nudity and vulgar language. However, in the free world internet, content is not controlled and almost anything can be found in the internet (Hongladarom, 1999).
In conclusion, I would like to say that various cultures and religions greatly influence the views of society on internet content. This is mainly because of the difference in beliefs. However, one thing is for sure, the internet is the greatest invention of the 20th century and has led to the betterment of life in society (Weinberg, June 2003).
