Hi, need to submit a 3000 words paper on the topic Commercial Aviation. The business of carrying cargo, mainly mail commenced in 1909 and commenced carrying passengers around the early twenties. It was mostly privately owned with government assistance. Later in post World War II era, some national airlines were formed. However, largely it has been the private enterprise that has featured in the commercial airline business.
The main thrust of commercial aviation took shape from 1945 onwards as the use of aircraft during the war had established the usefulness of air travel. However many a government had regulations that were applied from time to time, either to support or control the industry. The USA was a leader by offering the least controls. In 1978 US further deregulated air travel, much to the delight of passengers, who now had more choices and higher competition emerged in the shape of low fare/low-cost airlines which operated with no frills. The new leaders have shown remarkable resilience and have become leaders. This is one growth industry as there is a continuous increase in the number of people who fly.
The current state of the aviation industry suggests that the operations of the high fare/high/cost airlines have severe constraints and it is demonstrated by the fact that in these airlines there are a huge number of bankruptcies and frequent reorganizations. There is a certain instability that constantly looms over the industry. As against this the low fare/low-cost carriers are better off as they work within their means and concentrate on delivering their two main promises to the customers of low fares and frequent services without any frills. Since the expectations are low, the customer is generally more satisfied.
