I believe Kraft Foods and Heinz is competitive rival because they both are leading brand name food products in our supermarkets around the world, however they both are competing for the number one food spot into supermarket’s around the world. Kraft Foods brand attracts all part of a family their plan for growth is to drive down costs … without compromising quality. Heinz brand also attracts families from different aspects however their growth plan is to focused on driving top-line growth and margins through higher productivity Kraft and Heinz are not as competitive as one might believe. What needs to be known about both of these big companies is that they provide many of the products for the lesser known store brands. In one store the mustard might have the store name on it, but it actually was made by either Kraft of Heinz. In many instances these store brands are made in the same factory and at the same time. These products are put into different bottles or plastic containers that carry the store’s name or brand. This is the way that business is being done in order to keep the cost of the store item low. Very few people understand how this is accomplished. The larger companies are not hurt by the store brands. What these companies would like for one to believe is that they have the customer’s interest at heart, when in actuality all they are interested in is the money that one will spend on their product. 2. Macy’. s vs. JC Penny has been competitors for many years. they have very similar shoppers. However the Penny shopper tends to be a little more frugal and is always watching her budget. The Macy’s shopper is a more outgoing and ready to spend. Both stores are in the same ball park. but in a game of their own. Macy’s sells more high end products and has one of the largest departments store in the world in Harold Square. Macy’s and JCPenny are the same kind of store but one is high end (Macy’s) and the other is more (Low end). JCPenny recently acquired a new CEO, which was Macy’s Ex-CEO. They also open a store in the Harold Square area, which is a high tourist area. I really don’t see these stores as competition. I see one is fore the budget conscious and the other is for the ready to spend. Even though you can, find some good deals in Macy’s. When one looks at Macy’s and J.C. Penny, you are looking at the same animal. It is true that Macy’s appears to be a more top of the line store, but this was true only in the past. At the current time, Macy’s is very interested in offering things that just the normal people will shop for and purchase. Many of the items that were once made in American are now made in China and are the same items that one would find in J. C. Penny and if one looked closely, one would discover that the brands are made by the same company in China. Macy’s does attract a person who might have more money to spend and possibly they would spend it on a special item that might not be available at J. C. Penny. 3. Both General Motors and the Ford Motor Company have been notorious rivals over the past century. This rivalry has helped shaped the automotive industry from infancy to what we know it to be today. Both of these companies make money by manufacturing and selling automobiles and sales is a very important aspect of their business. . .In order for these companies to attract buyers, the companies have to implement a .competitive action .so that they can differentiate themselves and attract customers. In the auto industry this can be anything that the competition has missed such as offering side airbags standard in a particular model when the competition is charging extra for the same option. Once the competition gets wind of the standard side airbags or anything else that gets attention, the rival will then come up with a .competitive response .to counter respond to the competitors deal. They might offer the same type of deal, or even making it even more attractive by offering more options that the competitor is not offering in addition to the side airbags for example. As time goes on so does the rivalry and many accessories and innovations are invented so that each car company can have that “something” to attract buyers. Ford and General Motors have been great rivals over the past fifty years. It is true that their competition has resulted in much better automobiles being made by both companies. In the past fifteen years, both of these companies have bought other companies that are not related to the auto industry. At this time, they are trying to unload these bad purchases and get back to just being good automobile manufacturing companies. The fact that these companies try to offer things in their cars that might cause someone to purchase their cars, it is hard to keep a secret in the automotive industry. When one company comes out with something, it will not be long before the other company has the same thing. The big thing that now makes a difference with the consumer is the price of the autos. That is where the major focus is now from both companies.
