For Portfolio #4 I want you to revise a previous portfolio assignment (regardless of the grade) based on the topics we’ve discussed in class. Your options are: 1 letter from Portfolio #1; all of Portfolio #2; one page from Portfolio #3. Submit an improved version for this assignment. During this editing process, consider:
Genre Conventions:
- Unified Paragraphs
- Transitions and topic sentence
- Appropriate aesthetics for the genre
Precision and Clarity:
- Removing zombie nouns
- Removing extra phrasing
- Adjusting for active or. passive voice
Rhetorical Effectiveness:
- Creating reader-centric sentences when needed
- Developing content that is appropriate for the audience
- Anticipating audiences needs and/or objections
- Tayloring your tone for the rhetorical situation
