) Referencing the DSM 5 guidelines for diagnosing schizophrenia, provide evidence as seen in the movie that would help support this diagnosis. What positive and negative symptoms did you observe?
2) Discuss how the symptoms of schizophrenia were presented through cinematography?  For example, what film methods were used to show psychosis? What film methods depicted different stages or times in Nash’s life? You should consider more than one aspect of filming such as lighting, camera shots (close-ups, camera movement, etc.) and/or music.  You don’t need to know the technical names or specific techniques, just describe what you observed and how it added to the film’s portrayal of this story.
3) What do you think of the movie’s portrayal of schizophrenia? Did it seem accurate? Did it perpetuate stigma associated with schizophrenia or do you think someone watching it would have a greater understanding/appreciation of what it’s like to live with this disorder?
