What are the rules for the exams?

  1. This is an open book, open notes exam.
  2. You may only use the computer, electronic devices, networks and the Internet in the capacity called for in the exam.
  3. You may use the computer’s “Help” feature, including the “Office Assistant” and Wizards. You may use search engines such as Google and Yahoo to search for information helpful in completing your answers.
  4. You may only use the software programs designated in the exam. But you may also use “My Computer” and “Windows Explorer”. You may also use your own or the computer’s calculator.
  5. You may not seek or accept help from any other person or entity. Such prohibited help includes, but is not limited to, all the traditional methods of cheating as well as technology-enabled cheating: e-mail, instant messaging, text messaging, blogging, tweeting, telephone, voice mail, Internet-based answering services etc.

 
 

Exam activities:

  1. Create database
  2. Import table data from Excel
  3. Create 2 queries
  4. Create and modify form
  5. Create and modify report

 

  1. Create a new database. Name it UniqueID 181 Online Access Exam.accdb.

 

  1. Import the table from the Excel data source (181 Excel Data Source Access Exam.xlsx). Name the table tblStudents. See later in this document for the data for the table. (If you don’t remember how to import the Excel data, then you will have to create the table from scratch and type in all the data).

 

  1. Create the following two queries. Query names are in italics.

Using the Report Wizard, create a report that looks like the example below. This report is based on tblStudents. Name the report rptMajorGPA. Group by Major and sort by descending GPA.
