3. For this essay, you must find only 1 scholarly article from a peer-reviewed journal, which can be found on Google Scholar. The article should help you show how that scene is significant or help you better understand the events/characters/dialogue within the scene. Websites are NOT acceptable for this essay. Here are examples of keywords to use in your searches: the title of the play or Shakespeare’s name, a character like “Emilia,” major plot event like “Desdemona’s death,” a symbol like “handkerchief,” or a theme like “revenge” or “jealousy.” Read through the source carefully, looking for where the author mentions your specific scene. But perhaps the source doesn’t mention your chosen scene; that’s fine, too. Don’t rely on it to do so. Read is carefully for anything that might help your ideas. Most of this essay should be your ideas, not the source’s. The source is there to help your analysis or understanding of the play. Your source can be as old as the year 2000, but it would be better to find something published within the last 10 years. You Must have full access to the full text of the article. Do NOT purchase the article if you can’t find it on Google Scholar.
