Read and summarize a recently published scholarly journal article (published in the last 5 years) with a focus on transition to adulthood.
Identify and describe at least one issue (from the article) for late adolescents and/or young adults in their early twenties and their parents during this transition period.
If you were a parent of adolescents, what actions would you take so that they would have a smooth transition to adulthood? Support your answer with human development and/or family theories and up-to-date research findings

Using the UMUC online library (or comparable library database), locate two recently published articles from scholarly journals that report research findings on 1) parenting children during separation and after divorce or on 2) step-parenting.
Summarize the findings and describe the stressors, issues, challenges for parents, children, adolescents, and/or grandparents.
What guidelines would you suggest to a friend or family member who is in the process of adjusting to separation, divorce, or step-parenting? How can they ease their children’s adjustment to this transition and change?

Role overload refers to the understanding that demands of work and family leave individuals strained and overwhelmed while role buffering refers to the understanding that both parents (or others assuming a parenting role) act in ways to buffer the effects of stress associated with dual roles.
Using the UMUC library or a comparable local library database, locate two academic journal articles that report issues and challenges 1) facing parents in the workplace or 2) focusing on parents serving in the military.
What are the challenges facing working/military parents? Their children? Their adolescent children? Their adult children and/or grandchildren? What are the available supports and resources, and/or strategies used by parents to address these issues?
