Chapters 1: Inferential Statistics.
Chapter 2: Discrete and Continuous Variables.
Referring to your eText and resource materials:
Post an example of Inferential Statistics. Briefly explain how your example falls in the category of Inferential Statistics.
Give an example of a Discrete Variable and an example of a Continuous Variable. For each variable answer the following questions:
a) Why is your variable discrete or continuous? (Are you counting or measuring?)
b) What types of values are appropriate for your variable? For example, if your variable counts the number of courses taken by students this semester, the values would be 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (assuming no one takes more than 6 courses)
c) In which professional setting would it be important to study this variable? (For the above example, the administration of a college could use this variable for scheduling classes or to know how long it will likely be before students graduate)
Answer in complete sentences? Use your own unique examples. Do not use examples posted by other students.
