critical reflection
Purpose: You are required to write a paper in which you provide a reflection on engagement and learning. You are writing about your own engagement and learning during the unit. You are also demonstrating your knowledge of research processes and methods and, to a lesser extent, your knowledge of the topic that you studied.
You will have to answer the following questions:

1. What are the key things you’ve learned about your chosen topic? (Briefly)

I have done a literature review in which I addressed the following questions:

• What is the existing body of literature addressing parental involvement of students with special needs and students’ outcomes?
• What is the relationship between parental involvement and students’ academic achievement?
• What is the relationship between parental involvement and students’ social competence?

Conclusion: Most research studies have shown that parental involvement in educational programs in the school setting are linked to positive educational and social skills outcomes. There is a limited number of studies addressing the involvement of parents in the social and educational performance outcomes of children with special needs. I also learned that parents play an important role in the education of their children with special needs.
