Psychology homework help

Discussion Topic:
Read your textbook chapter 8. This discussion focuses on the topics of intelligence and assessing intelligence. Also, watch the videos “Standardized Testing and Intelligence – Howard Gardner’s Take” and “Why colleges are reconsidering their reliance on standardized tests for admission” that are available in your Readings & Learning Resources section under the week 5 module.
Standardized tests such as SATs, GREs, ACTs, MCATs, are widely used (not only as entrance exams to prestigious academies, colleges, universities) but also in K-12 classes. In your initial discussion response (that is due by 11:59 Thursday night. See detailed instructions below), give a brief summary of assessments of intelligence and particularly of standardized tests. Then, discuss whether you believe that standardized tests accurately reflect intelligence/mental abilities? Why or why not? Do you believe that these tests can accurately predict life outcomes such as success in a career? Why or why not? Should we continue to use these tests?
Finally, remember to post a response to a peer by the final due date (date listed on this assignment).

Instructions:
Please make your initial post of approximately 300-400 words by sunday at 11:59pm (eastern time) each week. This is the first major part of every discussion assignment. If you do not make your initial response by this time, you will not have enough time to respond to a peer by the due date and will not get full credit for the discussion. For purposes of this particular introduction assignment, if you choose to do a video, please be sure it’s approximate length is 300-400 words.
Then, respond to at least one (1) classmate(s) by the due date. This is the second major part of every discussion assignment. Responses to classmates should be at least 75 words and should move the discussion forward, be conversational or educational. Remember, it is the quality of your discussion and responses that is the most important! Keep in mind that we are not in a traditional classroom environment and cannot have typical classroom discussions. This is meant to encourage similar interactions. So…imagine yourself having lively discussions with your classmates. Be creative and engaging!
Be sure that you paraphrase information that you take from sources and properly attribute all content. Do not copy and paste the information.
Please note: This is a post-first discussion. You must make an initial post before you can see other posts in this discussion thread. Also, you will not be able to edit your posts, so please proofread for spelling and grammatical errors prior to posting (I suggest first writing your posts in Word).
