Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read Chapters 5 and 6 in the Eiras and Scott (2010) Practical CIO: A Common Sense Guide for Successful IT Leadership e-book and the High (2015) and Mårtensson (2006) articles. You will need to research one additional scholarly resource in the University of Arizona Global Campus Library to support your work in this assignment.

You will be including revised content from this assignment in your Integrative IT Strategic Plan final assignment. You may wish to review the instructions included for the Integrative IT Strategic Plan in Week Six prior to completing work on this assignment to see how it fits into the overall final assignment.

In this assignment you will assess the future needs of the organization in your chosen scenario based on the Current State section and the organization’s goals you identified in Week 2 for the initiative described in your challenge scenario.

First, you will assess possible infrastructure needs, personnel requirements, and organizational issues that the company may face in its future state integrating enterprise technology management competencies.

  • Create an assessment of the major components that will comprise the future state of the infrastructure that will support your selected IT challenge scenario.

Then, you will synthesize ethical and organizational leadership concepts in an enterprise plan that includes future management and motivational strategies focusing on change management issues during the transition between the current state and the future state of the organization. Consider the impact changes will have on the people in the organization both from a job perspective as well as the impact on the individuals themselves. Consider the best ways to communicate any sensitive changes.

  • Develop an assessment of the future state personnel resource levels.
    • Provide an analysis of the personnel resources expected for future work levels.
    • Include an evaluation of the future competencies and skills anticipated in the areas related to the challenge.

    • Construct a plan for communicating transitions to affected employees.
    • Create a high-level plan combining ethical organizational leadership concepts for continued employee engagement and motivation through the anticipated changes of the enterprise plan.

  • Provide an assessment of any anticipated macro organizational issues that may impact the future state of IT’s organization or operations.
