CIS 524 New York State University Week 2 Conflict in Teamwork Discussion
Respond to the following:
- Imagine you are leading a team of designers for a new software product. During the kickoff meeting, the team starts to discuss design guidelines. About half of the team complains that guidelines can be too specific, incomplete, hard to apply, and sometimes wrong. The other half feels that building on experience from design leaders contributes to steady improvements. Take a stance on this debate and support your position. Then discuss how you would solve this conflict to get your meeting back on track.
Suppose my teams and I led a good group of guideline designers for a new software project presentation next week. We put together all the need a new software product to implement to improve to best practices that will be needed to accomplish our desired goal. My teams and I would discuss project and task, brainstorm processes, and discuss career growth in our plans. If the groups did not complete the new software project, the critics complained that guidelines could be suggest, too specific, mess up the video with the PowerPoint, and something wrong.
I would be starting over the need to help my teams experience the guidelines and be more challenging. I would have to build my team’s confidence and trust that I will listen only when my teams come to me with a problem; however, help them do something about it. My team and I would bring a software project presentation and work together into the meetings for our teams. Our team has written key topics, but they merely sample the thousands of guidelines that have been reported (Shneiderman and et al., 2017).
