Hello class,
1. Two relationship strength types used in the entity relationship model are strong and weak entities.
Strong entities- are well-defined entities and are independent of other entities in the ER model. An example may be a company’s employee database. A strong entity would an employee relation that includes the employee ID# as the primary key, employee first name, employee last name, employee phone number, employee DOB. This entity exists without a reference to any other entities.
Weak entities- are dependent on other entities in the ER model for its data to have context. An example may be a phone relation with phone ID# as the primary key, work phone number, home phone#, and cell #, but without an employee or customer relation, this information is useless.
