During the first week of school, you will be assigned a case study for your presentation assignment. Please read this case study. You will need to read it carefully, taking some time to understand the particulars about the story and the characters.

A. Carefully consider what you consider to be the main ethical issue of your case study. Considering the parameters spelled out above in the “Concepts to Understand” link, write out the main ethical issue of the case study. Put this in BOLD letters at the top of your document.

B. Under this main ethical issue, list out any other sub issues that you see in the story. These also need to be in one simple question. There may be several of these. List these out from the most important to the least important. Number 1. at the top, being the most important, to the least important last, at the bottom.

Just a note about this assignment. I want you to very early on in the class have your main issue nailed down. This is going to be the main point of the presentation, and will be the basis for the lesson learned from the presentation. These sub issues are often also interesting, and make for good items to know about and to acknowledge. But, these sub issues often arise because of the main issue, or are more likely clear right and wrong things. Or they may even be illegal. Again, just be careful these do not make up the main part of your presentation.

Knowing what the main issue is and the sub issues as well, will help you to select an appropriate expert and will also help you to know what to ask your expert.
