Since it is such a relevant topic, the dataset that I am going to talk about is the number of deaths due to COVID by state. I received my dataset from healthdata.gov. I decided to choose this dataset because the number of deaths by state vary and I was interested in figuring out why that was the case. After looking at how much the lowest death rate state differs from the highest death rate state, I wanted to see what these states were doing and implementing in order to keep their numbers of those with COVID low and therefore decrease the number of death. I wondered if making certain practices, like mask wearing, mandatory was one of the reasons why certain states had a lower death rate that was caused by COVID. I will be using ANOVA since I am comparing the means of all the states during the same time frame.

I am a mother of five children, and I am always worried about their safety. I am going to compare trends here in Indiana and trends from South Carolina. Since I am from South Carolina, and we are planning for retirement, I figured being that these are our two top states, Child Victims Trend is the perfect deciding facts. I obtain my information from healthdata.gov where the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services provided information. I will use a t-test to compare my data. The data set is broken down by state and year. The number of crimes committed involving child victims will be compared. I will be utilizing data from that past 5 years for my comparison.
