Consider yourself as the nurse leader and your DNP project( My DNP project is staff education on depression screening suing the PHQ-9 in out-patient mental health clinic) as the change to be implemented.

• Assess where you are as a leader in your readiness for leading change.
  • Consider the staff involved in the change – what is their capability of handling change right now?
• Write a motivational vision statement for the change to be initiated
• Develop a change plan that uses key strategies and techniques for managing change to ensure success in the implementation of your DNP project
  • Use either the 3-Stage Approach or Kotter’s 8-Step Model as your framework
• Use your new knowledge about change to identify potential resistances or barriers to your proposed change.
  • What is your plan to:
    • keep the early adopters engaged?
    • motivate the fence-sitters?
    • deal with the true resistors?
