Clarity of methods and data in a report is key to enabling the audience to understand the information presented and thus act upon the evaluation results. Focusing on the health issue your program is addressing, formulate a methodology that will provide meaningful data that can be used to better solve the health issue within the scope of your organization. For your Final Program Evaluation paper, write a succinct two-three page methods section outlining all of the needed component. Including:
- Define the purpose of the evaluation
- Describe the evaluation stakeholder workgroup (ESW).
- Some stakeholders will be represented in the evaluation stakeholders workgroup (ESW), and some will not. The evaluation stakeholder workgroup (ESW) comprises members who have a stake, or vested interest, in the evaluation findings and can benefit most directly from the evaluation. These members represent the primary users of the evaluation results and generally act as a consultative group throughout the entire planning process, as well as throughout the implementation of the evaluation. Members often are instrumental in the dissemination of results.
- Describe the stage of development of the program (Planning, Implementation, or Maintenance).
- Discuss the focus of the evaluation through the lens of the logic model you created or program description and stage of development.
- Discuss issues related to credibility of data sources available.
- Describe the indicators and/or performance measures linked to evaluation questions, develop an evaluation methods grid (see required CDC reading, page 23).
- Assess how your methods section will help you to evaluate the effectiveness of the program in addressing the public health issue of concern.
