I foresee several issues with the implementation of my research project. The first issue expect is to get buy-in from a variety of fire departments to be a part of the project. I hope to have a wide geographic sample of departments across the country, north to south and east to west. I also hope for a variety of individuals including young and old, male and female as well as different health history backgrounds. As many volunteer fire departments are not picky about staffing because of a national shortage, the vetting process for some departments may have no measures for health and illness background and often no health screening process (Green & Hendershot, 2017). This may cause many departments and/or members to avoid the process of this program.
