In your final paper, you will choose a topic question from the syllabus to use it as a
guide to compare and contrast Mexico and Cuba.

An introduction that clearly states your topic question, and the definition of the
main concepts, using sources from the syllabus.
● The main sources to address your topic question must be the three ethnographic
texts read and discussed in class, which you’ll also find listed on the class
syllabus.
● You can incorporate additional literature, but it will be secondary sources,
meaning use only to complement the main three sources. However, depending
on your topic question, it is understandable if you must use more articles and
podcasts from the syllabus, than the ethnographic texts.
● Clearly stated similarities and differences between Mexico and Cuba.
● Citations: references to texts, films, videos and podcasts.
