Valencia College Shintoism Discussion
Shintoism does not really focus on morality. It does not have a moral code. In other words, it is not concerned with how humans treat one another.
It does, however, speak of how humans should live purely so that they may receive favor from the deities. So, in Shinto, the concern is that improper behaviors separate believers from the gods. Shinto doesn’t care whether it separates them from each other.
