Topic 1. How would Machiavelli’s ideal ruler compare with Einhard’s description of Charlemagne. What is similar and what is different?
Topic 2. What is Machiavelli’s view of human nature as outlined in The Prince and how might his advice to the ruler show the influence of events in Italy in the late 1400s and early 1500s?
