Philosophy homework help
What is the biggest issue facing our nation today? Why is it so important? How do we philosophically solve it?
Using all of the material we covered this summer (for the sake of grading, at least three chapters, one of which has to be Chapter 6 or Chapter 8), offer a philosophical analysis of the issue you chose. What philosophical commitments underlie your position? Consider worthy objections to your view. What philosophical commitments do the opposition hold that might account for their different view? Why should they change their philosophical commitments? Why should they change their position on the issue you chose?
If your position involves ethics, there is no need to read Chapter 3. Use the other chapters to justify your moral position.
You may cite external sources that clarify the issue; do not use external sources for the philosophy part.
The reader should hear YOUR voice. Write for a generally educated reader who may or may not have had philosophy before.
For Example:
Why is this the answer?
Why the outcome?
Why is true?
The reader ought to believe this is true too.
Suggested word range: 1300-1500 words mandatory. Excluding name and title
Exam 2 Professor Feedback
My biggest general comment is that most people failed to address any of the arguments covered in the chapters on mind/body and free will. For example, if one disagrees with determinism, one could have addressed Baron d’Holbach’s argument and refuted a premise. Similarly, a libertarian could have expressed agreement or disagreement with Richard Taylor. Names were quite absent in this exam (compared to last time), with definitions used instead of philosophical arguments.
