1)Capacity to perceive the relationship between thoughts, feelings and actions. Requires cognition, intuition & empathy, & also a tendency not to externalize onto environmental objects.

2)Capacity and desire to learn the meaning and causes of experience and behavior. A desire to understand what causes specific thoughts, feelings or actions.

3)Capacity to direct inwards, i.e, to direct the psychological thinking towards one’s own psychic life rather than towards other objects. Introspection or self-awareness
